Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hendy affirmed his ministry’s commitment to boosting the competitiveness of Egypt’s ICT sector and encouraging global companies to expand their investments nationwide.
The minister’s remarks came during a meeting on Saturday with Mikko Lavanti, the Senior Vice President of Mobile Networks at Nokia for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), as part of the visit of the President of Finland to Egypt.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the company’s plans to establish an integrated regional hub in Egypt for technical support and operational services.
Hendy stressed the ministry’s focus on expanding telecommunications networks, enhancing service quality, and improving operational efficiency to accommodate the growing demand for digital services.
During the discussions, Lavanti outlined Nokia’s plans to establish an integrated regional centre in Egypt for technical support and operational services, leveraging Egypt’s strategic geographic location as a regional hub for ICT services.
Lavanti stated that Egypt represents a strategic hub for the company’s operations in the region, given its strong competitive advantages that support high-quality service delivery and business expansion.
He added that Egypt’s investment environment, advanced digital infrastructure, and highly skilled workforce are key factors for Nokia’s expansion plans.
