Minister of Social Solidarity  Maya Morsy, who also serves as Chair of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse (FCTAA)  witnsessed on Thursday the launch of a new edition of the campaign “You Are Stronger Than Drugs”,  introduced under the slogan “You Are Capable.”

The campaign was developed over the past four months to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and addiction. The event was attended by  Amr Othman, Director of  FCTAA.

The new phase of the campaign comes as part of the preventive component of Egypt’s National Strategy for Combating Drugs and Reducing the Risks of Drug Abuse and Addiction, launched under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and implemented in cooperation with various ministries and relevant authorities.

The campaign includes a new awareness advertisement highlighting the dangers of drug abuse, Morsy said.

The minister stated that the latest edition of the campaign carries motivational messages presented through a creative and artistic approach aimed at raising public awareness about the risks of drug use and addiction.

She noted that the global drug problem has undergone dangerous transformations, with the number of drug users rising by 20 percent worldwide over the past decade, in addition to the rapid spread of synthetic drugs, which has placed significant pressure on healthcare and rehabilitation systems.
