Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aati, has reiterated Cairo’s commitment to coordinating with regional partners to address escalating challenges and preserve stability across the Middle East.
Abdel-Aati spoke by phone with the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, to review regional developments and intensify joint efforts toward de-escalation.
During the discussion, the ministers exchanged views on ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran.
They emphasised the importance of advancing diplomatic engagement —including convening a second round of talks — to reinforce ceasefire efforts, sustain the current truce, and bring an end to the conflict in a manner that prevents wider regional repercussions.
In this context, Minister Abdel-Aati stressed that any future arrangements must safeguard the security concerns of the Gulf states.
Furthermore, Minister Abdel-Aati expressed Egypt’s deep concern regarding the recent drone attack on two sites along Kuwait’s northern border. He reaffirmed Egypt’s strong condemnation of the incident.
He conveyed full solidarity with the government and people of Kuwait, as well as the wider Gulf region, in the face of security threats.
He also stated Egypt’s firm support for the measures taken by Kuwaiti authorities to protect their national borders and preserve state resources.
