Elements of Egyptian and Saudi Armed Forces have continued to carry out the activities of the joint military exercise ‘Sharp Arrow 2024’ (Al-Sahm Al-Thaqib).

The exercise will span several days across the Southern Military Zone, the Southern Fleet’s operational area in the Red Sea, and some air bases in Egypt.

The training activities included a series of practical exercises designed to achieve the set objectives, with a particular emphasis on standardising combat concepts and facilitating the exchange of training expertise between the participating forces.

These exercises also included airborne and commando units conducting air assault storming operations of vital targets, with the aim of clearing them from terrorist elements.

Groups of navy Special Forces raided a coastal target to eliminate enemy elements and secure control of the designated site. The participating units also implemented a range of standard and non-standard shooting drills, showcasing advanced combat training, precision, and professionalism in engaging targets from various firing positions.

In the upcoming phases of the exercise, joint air sorties will be conducted for training on controlling combat operations to attack hostile targets, with the participation of multi-role fighter aircraft from both countries. Additionally, a series of maritime activities will take place, including the planning and management of joint operations aimed at countering maritime threats. This exercise is part of the broader framework for joint military training between Egypt and its brotherly and friendly countries.
