Egypt has ongoing contact with all relevant parties to guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gazans, former assistant foreign minister Hussein Haridy said.
He told MENA on Saturday that Egypt has never closed Rafah crossing since the Israeli war against Gaza started, noting that Cairo welcomed the evacuation of foreign nationals through the border crossing and voiced its desire to deliver relief aid into the enclave at the same time.
He explained that the occupation forces are mainly responsible for the delay of aid delivery into the Gaza Strip due to useless search processes and repeated bombing of the other side of the border crossing.
Egypt keeps in touch with all regional, international and the United Nations parties to cease fire in Gaza and recognize the Palestinian state, he added.
