Egypt welcomed the developments taking place under the leadership of President Embaló. He also affirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all possible forms of support to Guinea-Bissau to consolidate its stability, including supporting the West African state in various international forums.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt’s readiness to strengthen bilateral co-operation with Guinea-Bissau at all levels to support its development efforts, especially trade, investment and infrastructure development.
The president’s remarks came during his meeting with the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embaló Thursday, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The president also voiced Egypt’s readiness to receive Guinea-Bissau’s cadres participating in the capacity building and technical support programmes supervised by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Developmentin different fields, according to the needs of the Guinean side.
The president also praised historical relations between Egypt and Guinea Bissau and stressed that this visit represents an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, especially in the light of the importance that Guinea-Bissau occupies in the West African region.
President Sisi, meanwhile, said Egypt welcomed the developments taking place under the leadership of President Embaló. The president highlighted Egypt’s keenness on establishing the foundations of stability and security and reinforcing the path of development in this brotherly country.
President Sisi said his talks with President Embaló were fruitful and constructive and reflected the joint political will to enhance strategic partnership, trade and investments between the two countries
For his part, President Embaló expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation in Cairo, stressing his country’s mutual aspiration to develop bilateral relations with Egypt at various levels, especially in the areas of trade, attracting direct Egyptian investments, technical support, and joint security and military coordination.
He praised in this regard the inspiring Egyptian experience and its pivotal role in achieving comprehensive development, economic growth, and maintaining peace and security in the continent by sharing various Egyptian experiences and harnessing their distinct potentials.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed efforts to counter terrorism, extremism, and illegal immigration in Africa, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.
