Egypt keen on supporting Qatari investment companies – minister

Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea asserted that the ministry was keen on offering all types of support to the Qatari companies in the Egyptian market to help expand their investments in the coming phase.

The minister’s remarks were made during her meeting with the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) chaired by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim. The two sides reviewed investment opportunities available in the Egyptian market as well as current and future projects that the association members could join.

Gamea noted that Egypt is a key gate for the African and European markets due to Egypt’s signing a number of trade agreements with such markets.

The minister also underlined the important role played by the Egyptian and Qatari business communities in enhancing the economic ties between the two countries and bolstering the establishment of joint projects so as to contribute to achieving economic integration and meet the aspirations of both peoples and create more jobs.

The two sides also discussed arrangements for a visit by the Qatari companies league to Egypt in the coming phase to explore available investment opportunities in the service and production sectors.

Egyptian Ambassador to Qatar Amr El Sherbini and Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Affairs Yehia Al Wathiq Belallah attended the meeting.
