CAIRO – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has voiced Egypt’s keenness on bolstering trade relations with Serbia in different fields in light of the great development projects being established in Egypt.

During a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic in Cairo, the president appreciated the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries, which date back to over 100 years ago, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

For his part, Dacic praised the significant role played by Egypt to maintain peace and stability in the Middle East, Africa and the Mediterranean region.

He also lauded the positive economic indices witnessed by Egypt under President Sisi, stressing that his country is keen on developing relations with Egypt in the parliamentary field.

According to the spokesman, the meeting tackled means of boosting cooperation in the fields of health, energy, tourism and counter-terrorism.

The two sides also discussed issues of mutual concern, especially the situation in the Palestinian territories and coordination of Arab stances at the international forums.
