CAIRO – Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tarek el-Mulla asserted Tuesday that Egypt is keen on co-operation and coordination with the International Energy Agency (IEA).
He was speaking at meeting with IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol held to discuss means to boost joint co-operation between Egypt and the IEA to render the Conference of the Parties (COP27) due in Sharm el-Sheikh in 2022 successful.
In statements on the sidelines of his participation in Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition Conference (ADIPEC) 2021, Mulla said that the IEA co-operated with the countries that have hosted the event earlier.
Birol said that the IEA is keen on boost co-operation with Egypt and presenting all kinds of support.
He said that he discussed with Mulla factors necessary to boost the success of the COP27 in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Mulla and Birol agreed on preparing a proposal for the work plan for co-operation between Egypt and IEA.
