CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of the Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi has underscored interest in the pharmaceutical sector, stressing keenness to enhance its production and settle the drug industry in Egypt to better cope with growing local needs.
Shimi was speaking during a meeting of the regular general assembly of the Holding Company for Medicines, Chemicals and Medical Supplies, which he chaired earlier Wednesday.
The meeting took up a report on the estimated budget of the company during the fiscal year 2024-2025, its strategic goals and its market indicators.
The report also focused on the volume of production and partnership projects with the private sector.
The minister pressed for action to expedite implementation of projects meant to upgrade production lines of the company and its daughter firms to be able to meet the growing demands at home and tap foreign markets.
