The Minister of Defence and Military Production and Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, General Abdel Meguid Saqr, met on Monday Lieutenant General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation. General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, attended the meeting.
Discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening military cooperation between the two countries and addressing regional and international developments affecting security and stability in the Middle East.
Earlier in the day, General Khalifa led the official reception ceremony for his Jordanian counterpart at the Ministry of Defense premises, where the national anthems of both countries were played. The meeting covered areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed the commitment of both militaries to continued collaboration.
General Khalifa highlighted the longstanding ties between the Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces and emphasized Egypt’s dedication to enhancing cooperation across all military fields. For his part, Lieutenant General Al-Huneiti stressed Jordan’s determination to expand military relations with Egypt and praised Cairo’s role in supporting regional peace and security.
Senior military officials from both countries, as well as the Jordanian military attaché in Cairo, were present at the meeting.
