Egypt, Italy to strengthen military co-operation

Chief-of-Staff Ahmed Khalifa met with Commander of the Italian Army Carmine Masiello and his accompanying delegation in Cairo on Thursday . The two sides discussed ways of strengthening co-operation and partnership between the Egyptian and Italian armed forces across various fields. 

Khalifa expressed pride in the longstanding ties between the Egyptian and Italian militaries, emphasising the commitment of Egypt’s military leadership to expanding military collaboration to serve the mutual interests of both countries.

For his part, Masiello affirmed Italy’s keenness to fostering military relations and sharing expertise with the Egyptian armed forces in the coming period.

The meeting was attended by senior military officials from both countries.
