The Egyptian Air Force, in co-operation with Jordan and a number of friendly and sisterly countries, carried out more operations to drop humanitarian and relief aid onto Gaza, the Armed Forces spokesman said in a statement he posted on his official Facebook page on Sunday.
The sorties were conducted as part the international collation to offer the affected areas in northern Gaza more aid through the airdropping.
The operation came in pursuance of directives by President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, on carrying on with providing all forms of support to Palestinians in Gaza to alleviate the burden of their lack of basic needs, the Armed Forces spokesman said.
A number of military transport planes meanwhile took off from Al-Arish Airport as part of the Egyptian-UAE air bridge to carry out airdropping of huge quantities of food aid and urgent relief materials onto northern Gaza, the spokesman said.
The operation comes within the framewok of Egypt’s active role supporting all regional and international efforts to provide humanitarian needs and relief aid to Palestinians amid the crisis Palestinians in Gaza are suffering from, the spokesman added.
