Egypt, India hold 14th round of political consultations

The 14th round of political consultations between Egypt and India was held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the level of assistant foreign ministers.

The Egyptian delegation was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Amr Hamza, while the Indian side was led by Indian Assistant Foreign Minister Neena Malhotra.

The consultations tackled means to strengthen bilateral relations in the political, economic, cultural, and technical fields, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The talks reflected the growing momentum in Egyptian-Indian relations in recent years, driven by intensified high-level visits and ongoing coordination between the two sides.

Both sides expressed their commitment to further advancing bilateral ties, particularly through thorough preparations for the eighth session of the Egyptian-Indian Joint Committee.

They also stressed the importance of enhancing interaction between the business communities of both countries and exploring opportunities for industrial and investment cooperation, including in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

They noted that such efforts would help increase trade volumes in the coming years and facilitate trade and joint investment.

The two sides also stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultations on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
