Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy received yesterday Ali Al-Shamsi, Director General of the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the minister of petroleum appreciated fruitful co-operation and partnership with Emirates Petroleum in the marketing and distribution of oil products, as well as in the operation of fuel stations.

Badawy highlighted the excellent quality and efficiency of the services offered in the Egyptian market, stressing the importance of building on this successful partnership to encourage further joint investments in this field.

For his part, the CEO of Emirates General Petroleum Corporation threw light on the distinguished relations and co-operation between Egypt and the UAE, noting that both countries stand together and work in unity on various fronts.

Al-Shamsi said that he will encourage Emirati investors to launch more various businesses across Egypt. He also pledged to provide necessary aviation fuel at several Egyptian airports.

The company officials stressed that the Egyptian market offers promising opportunities in fuel marketing and distribution, as well as in the establishment of filling stations, especially given the significant urban development, the expansion of modern road networks, and the creation of new smart cities.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to swiftly form a joint working group between the Egyptian Petroleum Sector and the UAE corporation to capitalise on opportunities for collaboration and investment in the marketing and distribution of petroleum products, as well as in the development of advanced service stations for vehicle fuelling.
