Armed forces units from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, and the UAE are taking part in air and naval drills codenamed ‘MEDUSA 11’ which kicked off on Thursday. Jordan is participating in the several days-long drills as an observer.
The Egyptian and Greek naval forces started their drills southeast of the Island of Crete.
The drills include several training activities, as the participating forces will be trained on planning and managing joint naval and air operations, as well as sea and air landing in which elements from the special forces are taking part, Egypt’s Military Spokesman Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez wrote on his Facebook account.
The exercises are part of exchanging expertise and promoting military co-operation between Egypt and friendly countries.
