Egypt gives top priority to ending the war in Gaza and preventing it from spilling over into a full war in Lebanon, affirmed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty.
Abdelatty’s remarks came during his meeting separately Friday with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
Abdelatty, meanwhile, said that his current visit to Lebanon comes as part of directives issued by the political leadership to affirm Egypt’s support to Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
He further reviewed contacts made by Egypt to reject any attempts to violate Lebanese sovereignty.
