Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty received a phone call from German National Security Adviser Gunter Sautter on Wednesday, during which both sides discussed strengthening bilateral ties and addressing fast-moving regional developments.
According to a Foreign Ministry statement, Abdelatty praised the distinguished relations between Egypt and Germany across various fields, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade sectors, in a way that reflects the depth of ties between the two countries.
The call also focused on escalating regional tensions, with Abdelatty briefing the German official on Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate and contain current crises. He stressed the importance of continuing the negotiation track between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that dialogue and diplomatic solutions remain the only viable path to addressing ongoing concerns.
For his part, the German national security adviser commended Egypt’s role in supporting regional security and stability, particularly its efforts to contain escalation. He expressed Berlin’s interest in further strengthening relations with Cairo and continuing coordination and consultation to serve mutual interests.
