Egypt is completely free of cases of polio, Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs, Mohamed Awad Tag Eddin said in press statements on Sunday.
The state is still vaccinating children, whether Egyptians or those coming from abroad, Tag Eddin added, noting that the vaccination is available in clinics and mobile medical teams for children aged between 0-5 years, and for non-Egyptian children who aged 0-15 years.
Having launched numerous polio vaccination campaigns, Egypt has not recorded any polio case since 2004, officials say.
In 2006, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared that Egypt is completely polio-free.
