Egypt’s Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad has discussed with France’s ambassador in Cairo Eric Chevallier means to bolster mechanisms of bilateral cooperation in the fields of environment, climate funding and biological diversity.
They had a meeting on Saturday in the presence of the General Director of the French Development Agency (AFD) and the adviser of sustainable development at the French embassy.
The minister highlighted Egypt’s successful experience on developing nature reserves under the green transition policy in partnership with local communities and private sector.
She also shed light on Egypt’s achievements on climate investments, namely in the fields of renewable energy, green hydrogen and waste management.
For his part, the ambassador lauded the Environment Ministry’s efforts on climate file, voicing his country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation with Egypt.
