CAIRO – Egyptian Communications and IT Minister Amr Talaat discussed Monday with French Ambassador to Egypt Marc Baréty ways of promoting bilateral co-operation in the IT and digital transformation sectors.

During the meeting, Talaat affirmed the close co-operation between Egypt and France, referring to the several French communications and IT companies which are operating in the Egyptian market.

He also pointed out to the co-operation between the two countries in the field of digital building capabilities, the smart cities and entrepreneurship.

The minister further pointed out to the government’s recent decision to grant incentives which aim to lure more foreign investments into Egypt.

An agreement was reached to hold a forum for the French companies in Egypt to review the sector’s potentials, which include promising investment opportunities, he added.

The French ambassador, for his part, said that he is keen on activating the declaration of intent agreement, which was signed between the Egyptian and French governments in the IT sphere during Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli’s visit to France in October, 2021.
