Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday received Supervisory Board Chairman of Siemens Energy Joe Kaiser, in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, CEO of Siemens Energy Christian Bruch, and Managing Director of Siemens Energy Egypt Layla el-Hares.
Egypt’s co-operation with Siemens in green energy projects, as part of the country’s efforts to become a regional hub for the production and exchange of new and renewable energy was considered during the meeting, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
President Sisi expressed appreciation of Siemens’ achievements in the implementation of developmental projects in Egypt, and the company’s successful efforts in establishing electricity-generating plants, spokesman Radi said.
Egypt, President Sisi emphasised, aspires for increased benefiting from the German company’s expertise in various developmental sectors, especially including those of the new and renewable energy and electric power interconnectivity projects.
President Sisi noted that Egypt also looks forward to benefiting from Siemens’s expertise in the technical and vocational training and qualification of Egyptian cadres in a way that deepens the values high performance and meticulousness in production, spokesman Radi said.
For his part, the visiting Siemens Energy Supervisory Board Chairman Kaiser expressed high valuation of the fruitful cooperation with Egypt as embodied in several energy projects, foremost of which are the three Siemens plants that have become the backbone of the country’s electricity grid.
Siemens considers these three plants a prominent icon in the company’s history, Kaiser said, adding the company is looking forward to further promoting partnership with Egypt, with focus on new and renewable energy in light of the tangible achievements Egypt has recently made in developmental and infrastructure upgrading fields.
