Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr Badr Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Comoros.

The top diplomat made the remarks in a phone call with Foreign Minister of the Union of the Comoros Mohamed Mbaye on Sunday.

Abdelatty lauded the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to share technical expertise and provide training to the Comoros in different sectors as part of Egypt’s interest in supporting development efforts in African nations.

He underlined the importance of exploring ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the education, healthcare, and capacity-building domains and continuing joint efforts to activate existing cooperation mechanisms.

The contact also tackled a number of regional issues of mutual concern, including developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, as well as coordination within the African Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to better serve common interests.

Mbaye expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting African issues, voicing hope to strengthen bilateral ties at all levels and draw on Egyptian expertise to support national development programs.
