Cairo hosted on Thursday talks between Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid and Finland’s Ambassador Riikka Eela. The meeting focused on boosting economic and investment cooperation and expanding business links between the two countries. Senior officials from the General Authority for Investment and the Trade Representation attended.
The minister said Egypt offers strong investment opportunities thanks to its strategic location, trade agreements, and major infrastructure upgrades. He noted government efforts to improve the business climate, simplify procedures, and expand digital services. Farid highlighted areas for cooperation including advanced technology, data centers, industrial equipment, and energy-related industries. He stressed Egypt’s growing role as a manufacturing hub for export to Europe.
For her part, Ambassador Eela confirmed Finland’s interest in Egypt’s market. She said Finnish companies are exploring opportunities in technology, digital solutions, industrial equipment, health, and medical technology.
A Finnish business delegation will visit Cairo soon to meet Egyptian partners and explore investment sites.
Both sides agreed to organize a joint business forum and field visits to industrial zones. The aim is to promote partnerships, showcase opportunities, and strengthen trade and investment ties between Egypt and Finland.
