President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed on Thursday that Egypt remains commitment to strengthening human development and safeguarding national stability, while continuing sincere efforts to de-escalate conflicts in the Middle East and protect the interests of the Egyptian people.

The president made these remarks as he participated in an Iftar banquet hosted by the Egyptian Military Academy.

In a speech he gave during the event, President Sisi extended his greetings, appreciation, and respect to all attendees, including the academy’s cadets and their families, expressing his pleasure at meeting them on this occasion.

He also noted the large number of cadets enrolled at the academy, which currently stands at approximately 8,000.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, along with a number of ministers, commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces, media representatives, and cadets of the Military Academy and various military colleges took part in the event.

According to Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy, the president emphasised that the primary objective of the academy’s educational programmes is human development.

“The main goal of the programmes at the Egyptian Military Academy is the development of the individual, and this focus must be translated into practical and tangible outcomes,” Ambassador El-Shennawy quoted the president as saying.

The president also highlighted the extensive efforts made by the state to advance both basic and higher education, noting the establishment of private and non-profit universities and the development of parallel educational programmes within the Egyptian Military Academy.

In this context, specialists in sociology and psychology were consulted to develop a comprehensive roadmap outlining the most effective approaches to human development.

The president also expressed satisfaction with the positive feedback he received regarding the academy’s programmes, the spokesman noted.

President Sisi further stressed that the academy’s selection process is based solely on merit and competence, noting that “There is no favouritism or discrimination in the selection of students. The only standard is capability and genuine merit.”

The president further explained that the academy’s programmes aim to build upon lessons learned from Egypt’s national experiences since 2011, with the goal of preparing qualified professionals across various sectors.

These efforts, the president added, are intended to produce generations equipped with awareness, vision, and a strong sense of responsibility towards preserving the nation’s resources for present and future generations.

He also highlighted the ongoing initiatives to train teachers and prepare them for deployment in schools, stressing the importance of professional preparation and adherence to strong educational standards.

Addressing regional developments, President Sisi spoke about the ongoing crisis and war in the Middle East, stressing that Egypt has been keen to prevent further escalation.

He noted that Egypt continues to exert sincere mediation efforts to end the conflict, warning of its severe consequences.

The president stated, “Wars bring nothing but destruction and damage to the interests and resources of nations, and the continuation of this conflict will carry a heavy price.”

President Sisi also warned that the current regional crisis could have economic repercussions, including possible impacts on prices, and confirmed that he had directed the concerned authorities to conduct a study into the possibility of referring those who manipulate prices to military courts.

Concluding his remarks, President Sisi reassured the Egyptian people, saying: “Rest assured, by the grace of God Almighty, we are well… Praise be to Allah.”

The president concluded his visit to the Egyptian Military Academy by performing the Isha and Taraweeh prayers at the academy’s mosque.
