BRUSSELS – The Egyptian-European Union relations are based on mutual co-operation and respect, affirmed Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.

In statements to Sada El Balad TV on the sidelines of the European Union – African Union Summit, which is being held in Brussels, Rady hailed close ties binding Egypt and the European Union.

Talking about the current visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Brussels, Radi said that President Sisi held today a meeting with the Belgium king and another one with the CEOs of major Belgian companies operating in Egypt.

President Sisi also held a meeting, during which he discussed the green hydrogen file, added the spokesman.

Regarding the Egyptian community’s meeting with President Sisi, the spokesman hailed the meeting, adding that meeting with Egyptians in any country is highly appreciated.

The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) crisis figures high in all meetings held between President Sisi and high-level foreign officials, he went on to say.

Egypt has a natural historical right on the Nile River, he affirmed, noting that Egypt does not oppose any development project implemented by upstream countries and Ethiopia.
