Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar commended fruitful and constant cooperation with the EU in backing the health sector in Egypt.
Abdel Ghaffar’s remarks came during a meeting he had with Head of the EU Mission in Egypt Ambassador Christian Berger and his accompanying delegation on Thursday.
Spokesman for the Health and Population Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting tackled previous cooperation between the ministry and the EU, especially during Covid-19 pandemic and the joint cooperation program during the period between 2014 and 2023 to support hospitals, health units and the medical treatment and preventive healthcare systems in Egypt.
Discussions also dwelt on cooperation mechanisms and coordination between the ministry and the EU in the health file, he added.
The visiting delegation affirmed the EU is ready for supporting hospitals in North Sinai Governorate to address any future challenges.
