Egyptian Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram said Egypt has an excellent location, and enjoys stability, security and safety.
The Egyptian market is attractive and promising, Makram added during her meeting via video conferencing app Zoom with Marie Iskandar Basta, the first female Egyptian to hold the position of mayor of the Bolingbrook suburb in the US State of Illinois.
The meeting, attended by a number of American investors, touched on available opportunities for foreign investment in Egypt, the Ministry of Emigration said in a statement Friday.
The minister said the meeting is held under the auspices of Egyptians abroad who play influential roles in their communities.
She noted that Marie Iskandar Basta has spared no effort in promoting her home country Egypt in American circles at various levels, especially as regards the economy and investment sector.
Basta has gathered a number of US investors wishing to invest in Egypt in today’s meeting, the minister added.
Makram noted that periodic meetings will be held to discuss any developments that lead to attracting more foreign investments to Egypt.
Meanwhile, the Bolingbrook mayor said she is looking forward to the success of today’s meeting, expressing hope that it may have a positive impact on the field of foreign investment in Egypt.
