Egypt’s economy grew 5.2 per cent during the first nine months of the last fiscal year, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom said, highlighting its resilience despite global and geopolitical pressures.
Rostom made the remarks during a meeting with CEO of Forbes Global Properties Michael Gilbert and CEO of Magnom Properties Maged Marei to discuss expanding investment in Egypt and the role of real estate in supporting sustainable development under the country’s Vision 2030 strategy.
He said construction and real estate investment had become major drivers of growth in Egypt, describing the sector as a “strategic locomotive” for dozens of related industries and a leading source of employment.
Rostom said the government was committed to supporting investors and implementing its state ownership policy, which aims to give the private sector a greater role in leading development efforts and improving Egyptians’ incomes and living standards.
