Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening economic and trade partnerships with African countries and advancing regional economic integration in line with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
These remarks came during a meeting the minister held on Wednesday with Minister of Trade of the Republic of Djibouti Mohamed Warsame Diriye on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting of AfCFTA held in Abuja, Nigeria.
The discussions focused on opportunities to expand trade and investment co-operation between Egypt and Djibouti, increase the volume of bilateral trade and facilitate greater access for Egyptian products to the Djiboutian market.
The meeting also underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two countries and exploring new avenues for co-operation that would contribute to supporting sustainable development objectives and enhancing economic integration across the African continent.
Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining coordination and consultation during the coming period in order to maximise the benefits offered by the African Continental Free Trade Area and create new opportunities for businesses and investors in both countries.
