Egypt on Monday dispatched medical and humanitarian aid to South Sudan as part of directives made by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to support South Sudan in times of crises.
A military transport plane took off from East Cairo Air Base heading to Juba International Airport in South Sudan, loaded with large quantities of medical and humanitarian aid, the Armed Forces spokesman said. The shipment, he added, was prepared in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent Society to contribute to alleviating the burdens on the citizens of South Sudan.
This aid, the spokesman explained, comes as an affirmation of the depth of ties and relations between Egypt and South Sudan, and based on Egypt’s pioneering role towards the countries of the African continent in times of adversity and crises.
