Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Tarek el-Molla discussed in a meeting on Wednesday with Cypriot Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Costas Kadis, Cypriot Ambassador to Egypt Polly Loannou and their accompanying delegation preparations for COP27 due in November in Sharm el-Sheikh.
In statements, the minister asserted the strength of Egyptian-Cypriot relations that highly contributed to supporting economic co-operation and increasing benefit from natural resources, as well as achieving joint interests.
He said co-operation in the field of oil and gas represents an important axis to support economic ties.
Molla reiterated the importance of COP27 and rallying efforts of the ministries concerned to prepare for the event, in a suitable and representable way.
Meanwhile, the Cypriot minister underlined great interest on the part of his country in taking part in COP27, in support of Egyptian government’s efforts to render the event a success.
