Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk has discussed in a meeting with Côte d’Ivoire Ambassador in Cairo Dole Gueu Albert, cooperation in the fields of trade and food industries.
The two sides explored the possibility of exchanging expertise in priority sectors, notably the manufacture of edible oils.
The pair also probed how to benefit from Egypt’s experience in developing food industries, which in turn contributes to achieving sustainable development and enhancing food security for both countries.
Farouk stressed Egypt’s keenness to foster relations with Côte d’Ivoire, especially as the two countries enjoy great potential to advance cooperation in food manufacturing and exchanging modern technology.
They also considered the prospect of establishing strategic partnerships in strengthening the commercial supply chain, while emphasizing the private sector’s role in supporting the efforts of Egyptian and Ivorian governments to achieve economic integration between the two countries.
On his part, the Ivorian ambassador said his country looks forward to promoting business relations with Egypt and making the best use of its pioneering experience in food industries.
Albert underlined the importance of partnership with Egypt, which is seen as a pivotal country in Africa.
