BARCELONA – Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed on Monday that Egypt is continuing efforts to develop its partnership with the EU and explore new vistas of co-operation serving its development process and ability to address challenges, provide jobs and improve living conditions of citizens.
On the sidelines of the sixth regional conference grouping the foreign ministers of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), Shoukry said the Egyptian partnership with the EU, either in the political or economic domains, is profound and variable and serves the two sides.
As one of the founders of the UfM, Egypt is keen on taking part in all activities of the union because they serve both the northern and southern Mediterranean countries either in the political, economic or cultural fields.
He underlined the important role played by the union to boost cooperation among Mediterranean countries in accordance with the priorities that were set previously.
Among these priorities is preserving environment in the Mediterranean region, he said, referring to Egypt’s preparations for hosting the 27th climate change conference (Cop27).
