Egypt’s presidency welcomed on Saturday the re-election of President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone for a second term.
“Egypt has followed with deep interest the results of the presidential elections in the sisterly state of Sierra Leone,” the presidency said in a statement.
It congratulated President Bio on his re-election, following an electoral process that reflected the awareness of the brotherly Sierra Leonean people.
The Egyptian presidency underscored support for Sierra Leone’s sovereignty and efforts to fulfil the aspirations of its people.
“In light of deep historical relations Sierra Leone, we look forward to coordinating during the coming period on all issues of common interest to our two countries and advance the course of bilateral relations in various fields,” the presidency said in the statement.
It extended President Bio sincere wishes for success and for the brotherly people of Sierra Leone for further progress and prosperity.
