CAIRO – Egypt’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez condemned the Israeli forces’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and resorting to violence against Palestinian worshippers, leaving dozens of them injured. Scores of worshippers were also arrested.
In a statement released on Friday, Hafez called for exercising self-restraint and providing full protection for Muslim worshipers who perform Islamic rituals at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The official reiterated his rejection of violence and incitement in all their forms, including calls to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy fasting month of Ramadan, warning of relevant consequences as regards the stability and security in the Palestinian territories and the region as a whole.
