Egypt has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ aggression on Jenin city in the northern West Bank, which claimed the lives of five Palestinians and injured 27 others.
A statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Monday said that Cairo fully rejected the recurrent Israeli aggression on and infiltrations into Palestinian cities, which leave scores of civilian victims as a result of the excessive and random use of force in a flagrant violation of international law and legitimacy, especially the international humanitarian law which imposes clear and specific commitment on Israel as the current occupation force.
Egypt also warned of gross consequences of the continued Israeli aggression on Palestinians that ignite more tensions and aggravate the suffering of Palestinian people, as well as undermine all efforts exerted by Egypt, the regional and international partners to reduce tensions in the occupied territories, according to the statement.
The statement also called on influential parties in the international community to intervene to halt such violations and provide protection for the Palestinian people, whose suffering is increasing day after day.
