Egypt has condemned the latest drone attack carried out by Houthi militia on the Saudi Abha International Airport on Wednesday evening. The drone attack, which was intercepted by the Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen, left several people injured and caused material damage.

Egypt reiterates its unwavering stance supporting Saudi Arabia in the face of the continuing coward terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia targeting civilian areas and safe civilians in the Kingdom, the E said in a statement.

Such attacks constitute a breach of international law and a threat to the security and safety of civil aviation, air traffic, and stability in the region, it added.

The ministry also reaffirmed its support for whatever measures the Saudi Kingdom may take to maintain its security, stability, and the safety of Saudi citizens and residents in the face of these continuous hostile attacks.

The Saudi-led coalition said on Wednesday it had intercepted an explosives-laden drone targeting Abha International Airport, southwest of the Kingdom, according to Saudi TV. The drone’s debris scattered, and four workers at the airport were slightly injured. The glass of some facades was shattered. Navigation traffic in the airport returned back to normal after it was halted temporarily.
