CAIRO – The Egyptian consortium of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric announced that the two companies completed the body of Julius Nyerere dam, which is located in the Morogoro area on Rufiji River, Tanzania.
In a report sent to Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el Gazzar said that the work to complete the construction of the body of the main dam continued for 687 days.
The dam will generate electricity with capacity of 2115MW to satisfy energy needs in Tanzania Control water flow in the period of flooding and thus providing the necessary water requirement.
The main dam for storage of water to generate hydropower using RCC concrete for main dam, with total length 1025 meters at crest level and 130 meters dam level.
