The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs said it is closely monitoring the situation of Egyptian citizens residing in or stranded across several countries in the region amid the ongoing military escalation.
According to a ministry statement on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati has been conducting daily follow-ups with the ministry’s consular sector as well as Egyptian ambassadors and consuls in Gulf countries, Jordan, and Iraq.
The consultations aim to check on the conditions of Egyptian nationals living in those countries and review the latest developments regarding evacuation efforts for citizens stranded in several Arab states.
Abdel Aati has instructed Egyptian diplomatic and consular missions across the region to continue operating around the clock to receive inquiries from citizens, provide consular assistance, and closely monitor the conditions of Egyptian communities abroad.
He also directed the missions to maintain constant follow-up on the situation of Egyptian nationals stranded in several Arab countries while travelling for transit or tourism, in order to facilitate their safe return to Egypt.
In this context, the ministry said it is maintaining close contact with relevant airlines to monitor evacuation arrangements and ensure that stranded citizens receive the necessary services and proper care.
The ministry also expressed its sincere appreciation to the governments of Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Jordan for the facilities they are providing to assist in the evacuation of stranded Egyptian nationals through their territories from neighbouring countries.
