Egypt’s national kickboxing team has expanded its medal tally to eight at the WAKO World Championship for Children, Cadets and Juniors, currently taking place in Jesolo, Italy, from 18 to 27 September, featuring competitors from more than 60 countries.
The team, locally nicknamed the Pharaohs, secured three silver medals and two bronze medals, while three female athletes successfully progressed to contend for gold in their respective divisions.
Mohamed Ibrahim Abu Zeid, Youssef Adel, and Mohamed Abdel Fattah earned silver medals for Egypt, while Rahma Mohamed and Jana Mostafa claimed bronze.
Led by Mohamed Sobeih, President of the Egyptian Kickboxing Federation, the national delegation features athletes competing across multiple weight and age divisions. Alongside the three finalists set to compete for gold in upcoming bouts, six other Egyptian contenders achieved fifth-place finishes at the international tournament.
