Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had a phone call with China’s chief climate negotiator Xie Zhenhua on Thursday.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said both sides discussed following up the outcome of their May meeting that was held on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The contact tackled the most important issues which will be discussed during COP 27 conference to take place in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh in November, he said.
They lauded the level of co-operation and consultation between Egypt and China on climate-related issues at bilateral and multilateral levels, he said.
