Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the sixth annual forum of the Egyptian Healthcare Authority on Wednesday, marking six years since President Abdel Fattah El Sisi launched the country’s universal health insurance program in Port Said.
The two-day event, under the theme “From Vision to Expansion… Elevating Healthcare to Global Standards,” highlights achievements in health reform and the completion of the program’s first phase across six governorates, serving over six million beneficiaries.
The forum features workshops and training sessions aimed at improving the skills of medical and administrative staff, sharing international best practices, and preparing the healthcare system for future expansion.
Officials in attendance included presidential adviser on health affairs Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Communications and IT Minister Amr Talaat, Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi, Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Minister Rania Al-Mashat, Local Development Minister Manal Awad and Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsi.
The event also includes the signing of 25 cooperation agreements with leading healthcare companies, NGOs and international institutions, alongside screenings of documentaries and presentations showcasing the system’s impact on healthcare quality and access.
