Egypt is following with deep concern the situation in northern Syria, particularly the Aleppo region, amid clashes and rapidly evolving field developments, accompanied by acts of violence and terror against civilians, which could have serious repercussions on the security and stability of fraternal Syria.

In a statement issued Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Egypt stressed the importance of de-escalation, halting acts of violence, calming the situation, protecting civilians, and preserving the security and territorial integrity of fraternal Syria.

Egypt stressed that a sustainable solution to the Syrian crisis remains contingent on a comprehensive political process based on dialogue and taking into account the interests of all components of the Syrian people, within the framework of the national state and its institutions.
