CAIRO – The Egyptian-brokered ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip affirms Egypt’s firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause, affirmed Chairman of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) Hassan Shehata.
The ceasefire agreement also contributes to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians as the result of the Israeli aggression in all Palestinian territories, he added.
In a statement Monday, the ETUF hailed the crucial role played by Egypt and its painstaking efforts which led to ending three days of aggression in the Gaza Strip with Israeli airstrikes claiming the lives of 44 Palestinians, including 15 children and four women, along with injuring 360 citizens.
The ETUF, meanwhile, called on the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to activate its recommendations, which are issued annually by the fact-finding commission, to put an end to the occupation practices against Arab workers in Palestine, southern Lebanon and the Syrian Golan.
