Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Abbas on Tuesday discussed at a meeting with British Ambassador in Cairo Gareth Bayley means of fostering bilateral cooperation in the field of air transport.

At the beginning of the meeting, the minister offered his condolences to the British ambassador over the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II.

Abbas said the Civil Aviation Ministry is willing to boost cooperation and partnership with Britain in various activities of air transport, as part of the Egyptian State’s strategy for achieving comprehensive development and enhancing rates of economic growth.

He added that his ministry spares no effort to exchange training programs and expertise with the UK in the field of air transport, especially in light of the well-established relations between the two countries.

On his part, the British ambassador commended the safety and security measures applied at Egyptian airports, which conform with the highest international standards in this regard.

Bayley said his country looks forward to further cooperation with Egypt with a view to increasing the number of British tourists.
