Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas held a meeting on Monday with Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Terentiev, during which they discussed means of boosting co-operation between Egypt and Belarus in the field of air transport.

During the meeting, Minister Abbas reviewed his ministry’s strategy to attract more tourists to Egypt. He also followed up on development projects, being implemented in civil aviation sector to improve the quality of services and facilitate travel procedures to tourist destinations that are preferred by visitors from different countries of the world.

Minister Abbas stressed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation welcomes more co-operation and partnership with Belarus in various air transport activities. This came in light of the Egyptian state’s vision towards achieving comprehensive development and increasing economic growth rates.

For his part, the Belarusian envoy praised Egypt’s great success in organising the COP27 climate change summit, which was held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh on November 6-19.

The talks also covered the possibility of opening new horizons for co-operation with Belarus in air transport industry, especially in light of the development boom Egypt is witnessing at various levels.

Terentiev voiced his appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its clear strategy to enhance air traffic and tourism movement between the two countries.
