Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El Din said his ministry’s strategy is based on openness and co-operation with global companies to localise the latest manufacturing technologies.
Salah El Din made the comments during his meeting on Thursday with Armenia’s Ambassador in Cairo Armen Sargsyan in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) as they discussed aspects of cooperation in military and civilian industrialization.
Salah El Din highlighted strong and historical relations between Egypt and Armenia, which have recently witnessed remarkable progress, backed by the political leadership of both countries.
Salah El Din said the ministry’s primary role is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and Police for weapons equipment and ammunition, as well as benefiting from the surplus production of military production companies and units to manufacture high-quality civilian products at competitive prices
On his part, the Armenian ambassador said his country is interested in cooperation with Egyptian military production companies, which enjoy distinctive industrial and technical capabilities.
Sargsyan commended the considerable development witnessed by Egypt in different areas, especially with regard to using modern manufacturing technologies and applying the principles of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Armenian diplomat also praised Egypt’s influential and effective role in preserving the regional peace and stability.
