Egypt’s Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran met with Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh bin Eid Al Husseini and the Head of Consular Affairs at the Saudi embassy in Cairo Badr Al Wabsi, in the presence of Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ihab Fahmy, at the headquarters of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting tackled the organization and development of labor mobility and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of employment.

The talks addressed mechanisms for facilitating the movement of Egyptian workers to Saudi Arabia and explored the establishment of an electronic linkage system between the two countries.

The discussions also covered governance and regulation of seasonal labor in preparation for the upcoming Hajj season, in a way that safeguards the rights of both workers and employers and enhances the efficiency and flexibility of the employment framework between the two nations.

Both sides praised the success of the Professional Verification Program, jointly implemented by Ministry of Labor and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

The program serves as a modern model for improving the quality and competence of Egyptian workers entering the Saudi labor market, ensuring alignment with approved professional standards.

The Egyptian side proposed studying a new mechanism aimed at safeguarding the interests of both parties and further enhancing the reputation of Egyptian workers abroad.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Gobran expressed his deep appreciation for the ongoing support and cooperation extended by the Saudi side, affirming that the relationship between Cairo and Riyadh represents a distinguished model of Arab integration in the fields of labor and human development.
