Egypt announces successful efforts to secure safe return of rest of Egyptian soldiers in Sudan

CAIRO- Egypt announced successful efforts in coordination and collaboration with the UAE to secure the rest of Egyptian soldiers in Sudan and hand them over to the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum.

Egypt and the UAE voiced appreciation to the International Committee of the Red Cross for its efforts in ensuring safety of Egyptian soldiers in Sudan.

The Foreign Ministries of Egypt and the UAE said this step falls within the framework of the two countries’ support for realizing a truce via holding continued contacts with the Sudanese parties to exercise self-restraint, halt escalation and return to the political track.

The two ministries stressed Egypt’s and the UAE’s commitment to proceed with the underway efforts to stop fighting and protect civilians and civil facilities.

They underlined the importance of intensive efforts to return to the political framework and dialogue to settle all disputes and proceed with the transition stage to realize the aspired political and security stability in Sudan.
